I hope this works...

So I just realized after posting last night that the time posted was still set to USA Pacific time. I think I fixed it by now. If not, well, shit.

Today I got my foreigner identification card. Well, not exactly a card per say, (for that I'll have to come back in August 23) but a piece of paper saying I'll get the card soon, or something to that effect. I did, however, manage to snag a card for my national insurance, which will cost me roughly ten dollars a month - my first bill. Tomorrow I'll be getting a cellphone to add to my expenses, as though I didn't have enough things to waste money on. Hooray for responsibility.

As far as the experience goes, I'm slowly getting used to the way this place works. I'm not spending so much time with the other students in the program, but I think that's a good thing. On one hand, my social life is circling the drain, but on the other hand, it's good for me to find things out on my own. Besides, most of them will be going to different schools anyway. And I'd like to make friends with Japanese people instead.

Speaking of which, I've been trying to make plans to meet some friends in the area. I met them last year through my summer job as an activity guide for an English language school for foreign exchange students. Hopefully things will go well and I'll be getting drunk off my ass singing songs and whatnot tomorrow night. Otherwise, I'd feel kinda lame.
